What is twisted pair

Twisted pair is a cable in which conductors are twisted in pairs to compensate for electromagnetic interference. The category (Cat) defines the frequency and maximum speed: Cat5e — up to 1G, Cat6 — up to 10G over 55 m, Cat6a — up to 10G over 100 m.
